What makes DIY Diamond Painting special?

DIY Diamond Painting is one trend that’s making waves in the arts industry. For those of you who don’t know what diamond painting is, it’s simply a new craft hobby designed in 2015 through a collaboration between Paint By Numbers and Cross Stitch.

It was designed as a better, easier, more therapeutic, and quicker alternative to Cross Stitch. In Diamond Painting, you can use tiny resin diamonds to an adhesive canvas to produce beautiful mosaic paintings when the diamond comes together. To begin, you need DIY diamond painting kits.

Diamond painting is very easy to start and doesn’t require much prior experience on the painter contrary to popular opinion. Once you complete your first DIY diamond painting, you’d be so busy and full of joy at the end of the process that you’d become addicted to it.

The beautiful thing about DIY Diamond painting is that, unlike other creative activities, you don’t have to spend so much time learning about diamond painting or practicing how to do it right. You will learn almost instantly when you start the process, then your creative imaginations take over.

This is what makes diamond painting stand out from other creative activities where you’d scratch your head or almost feel like ripping something off your body because of frustration, instead of giving you the time to relax and enjoy yourself.

Diamond painting may sound very interesting and exciting to beginners at first, but they soon become confused about what it really is and how they can go about it. This is probably because of a lack of knowledge or resources available to them.

The first thing you need is a diamond painting kit that has everything needed to start your journey.

Without further ado, let’s look at how you can begin your DIY Diamond Painting journey. You’d be shocked at how easy it is.

Guide to DIY Diamond Painting

What are the steps needed to embark on this exercise?

1. Unpack your materials:

Once you’ve got your kit, it’s time to unpack the materials inside. Each kit has everything you need to get started. Arrange it in order of usage if possible

2. Prepare the canvas:

Unroll the canvas on a smooth, flat surface. Make sure that the surface is clean and dry to avoid unnecessary spillage and stains.

3. Prepare the diamonds:

Pour the diamonds into the grove tray and turn both ways lightly to allow them to settle into the groves.

4. Apply wax

By now, you should already have a sense of what the wax is used for. Your guess is right! It allows the diamonds to stick to the diamond pen. Simply apply it at the tip and pick up a diamond.

5. Do the work

Stick the diamond to the corresponding symbol using the legend provided

6. Final work

Once you’ve completed everything, your artwork is ready. The only things left to do is to frame the kit (if the kit isn’t included) and share to various media platforms or show to your friends. Your work is ready for use!
